Montvale, NJ based company is seeking a Mobile Developer to join their Ignition Tax Product, software engineering group responsible for building tools that enable teams of global accountants to perform complex tax and financial services for some of the worlds largest companies for a hybrid, contract-to-hire role.
As a member of the UI/UX Design team, the Mobile Developer works within a new formed mobile team to translate the design teams mockups into a working user interface. While in this role the Mobile Developer will be developing features with a future proof approach, researching the latest practices espoused by fellow engineers building within the React Native/Expo ecosystem, maintaining a development environment with the latest compatible tools, writing and maintaining clear documentation and Standard Operating Procedures, preparing and giving presentations across a broad technical range, working with QA teams to test and write comprehensive test cases, building resiliency into codebases and maximizing the security posture of applications, and collaborating with backend developers to architect APIs for mobile consumption. We are looking for organized and communicative team players who will advocate for the user experience of our mobile software throughout its cooperative development with adjacent teams.
Contract Duration: 3-6 Months (Contract-to-hire)Required Skills & Experience
High levels of expertise in React Native, React Navigation, Redux, Redux Thunk, RN Reanimated, React Hooks, ES6 JavaScript and ESNextProficiency with native build tools and package managers: NPM, Homebrew, XCode, Android Studio, Gradle, CocoaPods, and associated CLI toolsDeep understanding of native iOS and Android pre and post compiled architecturesExperience working with JSON data models and mobile integration with REST APIsDemonstrable competence and creativity in shell scriptingExperience with OIDC/OAuth 2.0 authenticationAbility to write clear documentation of processes in MarkdownMinimum 5 years of experience designing intuitive, engaging, easy-to-use, visually appealing mobile applications and progressive web applicationsPrevious experience delivering client-facing applicationsExperience working in structured environments following Agile methodologiesSelf-directed with excellent verbal, written, presentation and facilitation skills
What You Will Be Doing
Build cross-platform mobile applications and application features using React NativeDevelop extensible components and stored procedures adhering to principles of modular architecture and responsive UIWrite unit tests with Jest and DetoxCollaborate with designers on UI designs and with backend developers for API integrationMeet with business stakeholders to understand business needs and how they are best translated into full-scale applications and/or application featuresDo independent research projects and present to teamsBe an advocate for user experience design and communicate vision to teamsContribute to design and development language documentationIdentify areas for design and development improvement based on latest and upcoming industry trends
