Reliability Engineering Manager

BlueWing Ventures, LLC., Costa Mesa, California, United States, 92626

Anduril’s Reliability Engineering organization is seeking a Reliability Engineering leader to join our team. The Reliability Engineering team is rapidly growing and works with our broader Engineering team to ensure our products operate and meet all mission performance, environmental conditions, and customer requirements. We develop cutting-edge Reliability processes and methods to secure scalable, long-term business success.

As a Reliability Engineering leader at Anduril, you will work within the organization to onboard product teams into the Reliability framework, lead Reliability efforts within new product development, manage processes for continuous improvement and risk buy down, and lead the team through root cause + corrective action efforts throughout the new product development life cycle to ensure a smooth hand off to production. You will also develop goals for metrics and support the team through field performance monitoring, and track trends/lessons learned with the team and liaise and delegate improvement actions to upstream teams. The right person for this role has knowledge in advanced Reliability tools such as Reliability Prediction, Reliability Block Diagrams, FMEA, FMECA, Fault Tree, Weibull, HALT Analysis and Test Methodologies, Test Verification and Validation Methodologies, Qualification Test Campaign Planning, FRACAS (Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System), and Root Cause Corrective Action management and handling. Furthermore, also have general experience in design for Reliability, development, test, analysis, manufacturing, operations, asset tracking and maintenance, and continuous improvement and has previously managed teams of 5-10 or more for complex advanced hardware programs. If you are someone who has hands-on leadership experience with a pragmatic approach that is results driven, loves to build world-class Reliability processes, work with many multi disciplinary teams, and be accountable for results, then this role is for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As the Manager of Reliability Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in leading efforts in design, analysis, and optimize systems and processes to meet stringent Reliability standards. You will also lead System Safety for Reliability, as well as Maintainability efforts such as Maintainability analysis, preventive maintenance, and metrics and trends reviews for Anduril Operations teams.

Onboard Anduril product teams into the Reliability Engineering framework.

Communicate the Reliability vision, goals, and our framework across the company to standardize development efforts across the business.

Outline goals and roadmaps each quarter with Reliability SME for the team, help staff the team, manage the team, and manage execution of team goals.

Define budget goals, outline constraints, and clearly outline needs for Hardware Product Management for test costing (hardware, labor, setup, and CapEX test assets).

Support Design & Development Engineers as a critical partner and leader to identify risk as early as possible through tools with your team such as Predictive Analysis for Design and Maintenance, FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), Fault Tree Analysis, FMECA (Failure Modes and Effects Criticality Analysis), and via testing, then work mitigation planning with the team and liaise risk buy down actions across the company.

Lead Reliability Engineer efforts with each product team supporting design reliability (predictive analysis and proactive failure modes and effects analysis), validation and qualification testing, production acceptance testing requirements, and fielding.

Lead System Safety efforts with each product team such as FHA (functional hazard analysis), Fault Tree, SCFTA (Safety Critical Functional Thread Analysis), and SSA (System Safety Assessments).

Lead Maintainability efforts with each product team such as predictive maintenance analysis, preventive maintenance procedure development, operational performance and metrics trend reviews, and have a stake in MRO (maintenance repair and operations) system infrastructure development across the business.

Support and liaise Reliability analysis outputs across the business to add value in the development process.

Oversee Reliability testing for validation and qualification such as accelerated life testing, environmental testing, functional testing and other relevant assessments.

Lead the team in efforts to develop preventive maintenance procedures and documentation, ensuring compliance with DOD regulatory requirements.

Work with the team to analyze test results and field data to identify opportunities for improvement in product design, manufacturing processes, operations and maintenance procedures.

Lead risk landscape and risk mitigation efforts across all product teams.

Provide guidance and training to team members on Reliability, Maintainability, and System Safety principles and best practices.

Support Business Operations Continuous Improvement: Software Tool Upgrade Requirements Drafting, and Beta Testing to improve asset tracking & maintenance, communication, data automation, and metrics for the Reliability Engineering Team.
