Job SummaryThe Convergent Systems Research Department is a team of engineers, specialists, and technicians who work collaboratively across the EIT intellectual ecosystem to solve pressing challenges in biomedicine. Our responsibilities span all stages of engineering design including ideation, prototyping and validation, and establishing SOP's.

As a Systems Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for advancing several ongoing engineering and technology development projects related to creating web-based/cloud-based software/hardware interfaces for data and image analysis and to developing methods to perform computational post-processing on data. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize system utility for the unique healthcare environment.

Job Accountabilities:The Systems Integration Engineer is responsible for performing the following job duties:

Apply standard engineering methods for the design, development, prototyping, and verification of electrical/optical/mechanical hardware of rapidly evolving biomedical instrumentationAnalyze and select individual components and materials to meet system requirementsDevelop software for remote data access, analysis, and/or instrument control using LabVIEW, C++, Python, and/or MatLabPerform test activities including writing test procedures, test planning, test conducting and data analysisTroubleshoot and resolve malfunctions and make recommendations that will improve efficiency or quality of operationsPrepare documentation following Good Laboratory Practices, including supporting versioning and preparing detailed technical drawings, and write SOP's for operationCollaborate with the other cross-functional teams to insure proper coordination of project, product, and system requirementsADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Required Education:

Bachelors degree in a field of electrical engineering or related fieldRequired Experience:

1-3 yrsRequired Field of Expertise:

Ability to design and document electrical/optical/mechanical systems using CAD based layout tools (preferably AutoCAD)Demonstrate knowledge of developing control systems for instrumentation using LabVIEW, C++, Python, MatLab, or similarAbility to grasp, understand, and correlate many pieces of a disparate complex system concurrently in a rapidly evolving environmentDemonstrate understanding of standard hardware and software development and versioning documentation practicesExperience with data acquisition hardware and software in hands-on testing environmentsExperience troubleshooting interactions between software and hardware such as network devices and lab instrumentationStrong skills in troubleshooting, debugging, performance optimization, and unit testingStrong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skillsMust be able to work both independently and in a team environmentPreferred Education:

Masters degree in field of electrical engineering or related fieldPreferred Experience:

1-3 yrsPreferred Field of Expertise :

Experience building sensor networks from orthogonal sensor elements and/or machine vision (imaging) systemsExperience performing and translating biomedical technologies or imaging systemsExperience in developing and deploying cloud- and web-based user interfaces for instrumentation controlExperience with configuration management and version control softwareSalary: $103,927-$121,469
