The Batching Assistant is responsible for ensuring all products are prepared according to recipes.

Essential Duties:

Measure ingredientsTake inventory and record lot numbers of ingredients used.Knowledge and usage of the FIFO systemComplete daily sanitation tasksRun tests for butterfat and total solidsKeep all support equipment clean to meet state and federal guidelines.Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated areaReport any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOPsFollow Quality Assurance standards and collect required samples, as needed, for Quality Assurance testing.Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information.Follow all required work safe practices. This would include compliance of Good Manufacturing Practices, wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.Other duties and responsibilities as assignedQualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred3+ months in manufacturing, dairy or another related field preferredForklift/Scissor Lift certified or willing to become certifiedAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimalsFluency in English; speak, read and writeSelf-Driven and motivated to growAbility to work in cold and wet environment for prolonged periods of timeMust be able to work in various temperature-controlled zones ranging from cold to hotAbility to operate equipment at recommended speeds and communicate mechanical and operational defects as they arise.Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which may be subject to evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.Must be able to frequently reach up to 31-77 inches.Physical Demands:

Regularly stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and armsRegularly stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlRegularly taste or smell productOccasionally sit and occasionally climb ladders or work on a platformFrequently lift and/or move up to 50 poundsOccasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
