Classified Salary Schedule Range 8. Placement based on qulification and experience with a range of $23.46 - $39.88 per hour.

Summary/ObjectiveResponsible for operating a school transportation vehicle for an assigned school function abiding by all rules and regulations for the safety of the passengers as set forth by University Schools, state and federal government agencies.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities, Knowledge and Abilities
Responsible for operating a transportation vehicle over a scheduled route as directed.Performs a pre-trip inspection assuring that all equipment, including safety devices, is in a safe and proper operating order.Maintains and promotes a professional and defensive driving attitude at all times.Responsible for maintaining proper student behavior as required to transport passengers safely.Reports immediately (by radio or telephone) any emergencies, breakdowns or delays while en-route including student discipline problems.Responsible for reporting all accidents, driving hazards and incidents of damage or vandalism as soon as possible.Prepares and submits daily report.Responsible for the interior and exterior cleanliness of the transportation vehicle.May be requested to do night driving, weekend driving and special daytime trips.May be requested to drive athletic, activity and special trips as assigned by the supervisor.Ability to sit for long periods of time, numerous distractions, visual, auditory and ambulatory acuity important.Ability to move quickly from one position to another in response to student needs and upper body strength with the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.Education and Related Work ExperienceRequired:
Criminal background check is required for hire.High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) preferredMust be a minimum of 21 years oldA physical examination - required each yearSafe driving record - pulled each year and not to exceed three moving violations in which points are assessed in the last three yearsYearly training requirements as directed by the Transportation SupervisorOther Skills and Abilities:
