The Packaging Designer plays a pivotal role in our organization's branding and marketing efforts by conceptualizing, designing, and executing innovative packaging solutions. This position requires a creative and detail-oriented individual who possesses a keen understanding of brand identity, consumer behavior, and industry trends. The Packaging Designer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to develop packaging designs that effectively communicate product features, enhance shelf presence, and drive consumer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Conceptualization and Design: Develop creative and visually appealing packaging concepts aligned with brand guidelines, target audience preferences, and market trends. Generate multiple design options and present proposals for consideration.Graphic Design and Layout: Design packaging graphics, labels, and structural layouts utilizing industry-standard software tools. Ensure consistency in branding elements, typography, color schemes, and imagery across all packaging materials.Material Selection and Specification: Evaluate and recommend appropriate packaging materials based on product specifications, durability requirements, and environmental considerations. Collaborate with vendors to source sustainable and cost-effective packaging solutions.Prototype Development: Create physical and digital prototypes to visualize packaging concepts and assess functionality, ergonomics, and aesthetic appeal. Iterate designs based on feedback and testing results to achieve optimal results.Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of packaging regulations, standards, and certifications relevant to the industry and geographical markets. Ensure compliance with legal requirements regarding product labeling, safety warnings, and environmental disclosures.Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product development, marketing, sales, and supply chain teams to align packaging design initiatives with overall brand strategy, product positioning, and distribution requirements. Communicate effectively to gather project requirements, provide updates, and address stakeholder feedback.Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough quality checks on final artwork files, print proofs, and production samples to verify accuracy, consistency, and adherence to design specifications. Coordinate with printing and manufacturing partners to resolve any issues and ensure high-quality output.Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and knowledge sharing activities to foster creativity, innovation, and best practices within the packaging design function. Seek opportunities to optimize processes, streamline workflows, and enhance efficiency.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, Industrial Design, or related field.Proven experience (5 years) in packaging design within the consumer goods, retail, or manufacturing industries.Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).Strong understanding of packaging materials, printing techniques, and production processes.Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional design solutions.Knowledge of sustainability principles and their application in packaging design is desirable.ETEK is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO) and Affirmative Action (AA) employer.
