Description
Safely operate Trolley buses for guests of the Arlington Entertainment District and its venues.Operates fixed route services and on demand/reservation services at the request of theArlington Entertainment Management Area District, including: Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor,Rangers' home games, AT&T Stadium events, and Globe Life Field/Choctaw Stadium events.Complies with all applicable Arlington Transit Management, RATP Dev USA work rules,policies, and procedures. Includes adherence to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations andother state and local traffic laws. Must meet Department of Transportation Physical Standards.
Requirements
Education:High School Diploma or GED. Must possess and maintain a Commercial Class A or B TexasState Drivers' License with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements (for A & B licenses).Must have excellent customer service skills and ability to deal courteously with the public.Ability to assist wheelchair/scooter-bound disabled customers in boarding and de-boardingbus (requires occasional bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, and twisting while assistingwheelchair/scooter customers. Long periods of sitting while driving/operating transit bus.Includes reaching above head to adjust mirrors and destination signs during pre-tripinspections.Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical (medical) examination, whichincludes an alcohol & drug screen. Per DOT/FTA standards, Arlington Transit Management'sbus operators are subject to random alcohol & drug testing as a condition of continuedemployment. A criminal background check will be completed and assessed at Arlington TransitManagement of viable candidates.Experience:Drivers' history report from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), documenting drivingrecords for the past three to five years. Must be at least 21 years of age. Five years' experience inthe operation of a motor vehicle preferred.No more than three (2) traffic citations for moving violations during the past three (3) years.Accidents are also considered when reviewing DMV Reports (multiple accidents coulddisqualify applicants). No Driving While Intoxicated (DWI / DUI) conviction within the last three(3) years.Other:Must be at least 21 years of age and pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical(medical) examination, including an alcohol & drug screen. Per DOT/FTA standardsArlington Transit Management bus operators are subject to random alcohol & drug testing as acondition of continued employment. A criminal background check will be completed andassessed by Arlington Transit Management on viable candidates.Must be able to work variable shifts and irregular hours. Must be able to communicate in theEnglish Language, both oral and written.
