Nursing Services Support (OSHW) - Part-time/Temporary Position

The Office of Student Health and Wellness (OSHW) aims to eliminate health-related barriers to learning and advance health equity in Chicago. CPS is committed to addressing barriers to student health and wellness and providing education, programs, and activities that help improve the quality of life for students attending our schools. OSHW also strives to decrease health disparities within the district through the coordination of school health programs and student health services.
Job Summary:
Chicago Public Schools utilizes temporary part-time seasonal support in school-based, network and central office positions. This Nursing Services Support (OSHW) - Part-time/Temporary position will be compensated for time worked on an hourly basis. The work schedule for this role will consist of an estimated 20 hours per week for an anticipated period of 9 months beginning October 1, 2023 and ending June 30, 2024. Due to the part-time/temporary nature of this work, this is not a benefit-eligible position. This role will report to the Executive Director of School Nursing. This Nursing Services Support (OSHW) - Part-time/Temporary position requires reliable workers who are able to provide support for nursing services as it pertains to back-to-school deployment and staffing support.
The Nursing Services Support (OSHW) - Part-time/Temporary position will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:
Order and monitoring of inventory levels for nursing suppliesUse of spreadsheets for supply inventory and distributionRegistration and check in and out during large volume training sessions for nursing teamRequest, inventory, distribution, and reconciliation of computer equipment for nursingCopying, packaging, and distributing training materialsData entry using Google SheetsAbility to send a high volume of correspondence through Google Docs or GmailMaintaining files and scanning documentsAnswering and directing high volume calls and/ or emailsDuties to support nursing operationsIn order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Nursing Services Support (OSHW) - Part-time/Temporary position must possess the following qualifications:
Education Required:
High school diploma or GED equivalentBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferredExperience Required:
Minimum of 1 year of clerical, administrative, or office duty experience requiredExperience with clerical or administrative duties in a healthcare setting preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be organized, efficient, with attention to detailsAbility to work in a fast-paced work environment to meet deadlinesHandles sensitive information and maintains a high level of confidentialityExcellent computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Google applicationsExcellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact with high levels of hospitality and professionalismDependablePhysical RequirementsMedium Work: Exerting five (5) to fifty (50) pounds to move objects.Conditions of Employment

Establish/Maintain Chicago Residency -
Employees are required to live within the geographic boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of their CPS hire date and maintain residency throughout their employment with the district. The Chicago residency requirement does not apply to temporary/part-time positions, however, all CPS employees must be residents of Illinois.Be Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19 -
Unless approved for a medical or religious exemption, all employees are required to be up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccinations, including boosters, and to submit proof of vaccination to the district within 30 days of hire. "Up-to-date" on vaccination is defined as being at least two weeks past all primary vaccine doses and any applicable boosters.
