Marathon TS is seeking a Level 5 Senior Systems Administrator to support a federal client in Reston, VA.
s Level 5 Senior Systems Administrator, you will perform orchestration, sustainment, and evolution of a portfolio of mission-critical applications and services supporting a major Directorate within the U.S. Intelligence Community. Responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers. Monitor and manage system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency. Perform systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts. Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems. Provision/harden Linux operating systems. Must have familiarization with scripting and installing applications from root files. Working knowledge of reviewing of security scans, applying fixes to resolve noted deficiencies and ability to work with and run STIGs vi viewer or other automated tools. Other duties may include:
Setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space. Interacting with users and evaluates vendor products. Purchase recommendations for hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Developing and monitoring policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years
relevant experience. Linux (CentOS, RHEL, and/or Oracle). This position requires strong Linux skills with current/very recent experience., to include experience with Linux OS upgrades in a cloud environment. Experience working in an AWS environment and familiarity with console accesses to provision, maintain and monitor servers. Performing snapshots, disaster recovery, performance tuning Installation, STIG hardening, patching. Excellent troubleshooting skills and Tier 1 communication skills. Experience developing and maintaining critical documentation (SIPs, SAGs, SOPs, Getting started guides). NICE TO HAVE:
Experience working with Agile scrum teams. Experience with ElasticSearch. Cloud (EC2s, S3, Elasticache), Kafka, Openshift, Docker, Keycloak, Wildfly. PKI certificates, SSL, service accounts. Maintaining multiple environment types (physical, virtual, cloud). Experience supporting security audits and testing events.
