As a Sr. Power/Risk Analyst, you will play a critical role in various areas within our organization.

Responsibilities will include collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to energy generation, consumption, and market trends. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven solutions and strategies to optimize energy operations.

You will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, able to work independently as well as with others and have a passion for working with data to drive insights and inform decision-making.

Additionally, the role includes leading functions in risk control and reporting, providing analytical insights that aid in identifying, understanding, and mitigating risks inherent in our portfolio. Further, you will participate with system upgrades, enhancements to our Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) platform, data warehouse related projects initiatives, and creation and managing of reports in various platforms, ensuring that they continue to meet our needs efficiently and effectively.

You will be expected to contribute to diverse facets of risk management, demonstrating flexibility and a broad understanding of our risk landscape.

Effective interpersonal skills and communication skills will be necessary for this role.

This position will report to the Settlements and Analytics Manager.

Here is more about what you’ll be doing:Collect, clean, and validate data from various sources, including internal databases, external sources, and third-party vendors.Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, and provide insights to support business decisions.Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to communicate key findings to stakeholders.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data analysis tasks.Conduct ad-hoc analysis and data mining to support business initiatives and projects.Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data analysis and energy industry developments.Assist in the development and implementation of data management policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.Provide back up to team members, when necessary, which includes learning other functional duties within the team.Perform other assigned responsibilities, duties and projects as needed.Required Qualifications: In addition to the skills and experience mentioned below, a successful applicant will have experience that reflects a commitment to creating fair and equitable outcomes and has:

Education:A bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Finance, Risk Management, Business, Information Management, Economics, Statistics, Data or Computer Science, or another quantitative/scientific field is required.Experience:A minimum of three years' experience in an analytical role in energy trading, finance, or equivalent experience.Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.Knowledge of statistical methods and techniques for data analysis.Combinations of education, training, and experience in similar industries will be considered on an individual basis for equivalence and competency.

Desired Qualifications - You will be successful if you have the following experience, skills, and abilities:

A graduate-level degree in Applied Mathematics, Risk Management, Finance,Expertise and/or familiarity in one or more areas:

Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages, including SQL, Python, R, or similar platforms.Knowledge or background in Risk Management, Finance, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics.

Economics, Business, Computer Science, or Information Systems is desirable;Exceptional time management skills with a keen attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines;Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.Highly motivated, self-directed, results-driven, and a propensity to take ownership of assigned tasks;Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and findings to non-technical stakeholders.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information effectively.Knowledge and understanding of energy, energy markets and/or organized markets and related analytics is a plus.

The full salary range for this position is $59.22 - $68.89 per hour.
