The Nuclear Medicine Technologist administers sound patient care practices according to department and hospital policies/procedures. Completes ancillary tasks to ensure efficient and consistent departmental operations. Demonstrates radiation protection/safety for patients, staff, and self as outlined in department protocols and regulatory guidelines. Maintains equipment, exam rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition. Displays progress in level of functionality. Communicates effectively with mentor(s) and over time, demonstrates greater independence and decision-making ability.- Able to perform at expected level of supervisor(s) expectations.- Adheres to department policies and protocols by ensuring all examinations are optimized for interpretation.- Demonstrates the ability and skills to assist with adhering to radiography principles.- Demonstrates the effective use of radiation protection procedures with collimation devices and protective shielding.Requirements for Consideration:- Graduate of an accredited Associate’s school/program of Nuclear Medicine Technology.- ARRT-N or CNMT obtained within one year of hire date.- NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist within one year of hire date.- Registered State Inspector – Virginia within 3 months- Experience in a hospital/healthcare environment as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist/Student.- Basic Life Support upon startInova Job ID #657255.
