Chicago Steel, powered by UPG is seeking a Packager in Gary, IN. There are opportunities for wage growth and career development. The Packager will be assembling skids to the exact measurement requested by the client for their finished product. They will wrap and put the finished product into boxes, creating labels.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Operate banding head for slit coilsEnsure secure/proper packagingUtilize equipment safely and efficientlyForklift operationClean scrap from aislesQualifications:
Knowledge of steel banding and shop experience preferredHigh school diploma or GEDGeneral reading and computer skills (MS Office Suite, ERP, etc.)Experience in steel warehousing with defects common to steelAbility to read and use a measuring tapeStrong organizational skills.
