Bus Driver JobID: 390+ Position Type:Transportation/ Bus Driver+ Date Posted:6/19/2024+ Location:TransportationREPORTS TO: Transportation Director SUPERVISES: N/A EVALUATION: Performance to be evaluated every 3 years by the transportation director FSLA: Non-Exempt We are seeking dynamic drivers to provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school diploma or equivalent 2. Valid CDL license and bus driver's permit to drive a bus 3. Ability to lift 50 lbs 4. Completed required trainings before interacting with students ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Safety:+ Compliant with all Federal and State laws and mandatory safety regulations for school buses+ Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects+ Notifies the transportation director in case of mechanical failure or lateness+ Maintains discipline on the bus and reports any undisciplined students to the proper authority.+ Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.+ Transports only authorized students+ Discharges students only at authorized stops+ Reports all accidents and completes required reports+ Current on required trainingsOperations and Communication:+ Keeps to assigned bus route & schedule+ Keeps assigned bus clean+ Reports to work for assigned schedules+ Communicates to the transportation director if late or absent+ Partners with transportation director when necessary to address parents+ Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips+ Performs other duties as assignedAA/EOE Revised: 12.19.2023
