Front of House Floor Manager Job Description
The Floor Manager, with guidance from the senior management team, oversees the daily operations of the restaurant with a focus on training and maintaining service standards. The Floor Manager will be responsible for assisting and guiding the FOH team as well as reporting any issues that need to be addressed to the management team along with ideas for correcting said issues. The principal focus in this role is to be present on the service floor during all service hours, connecting with guests, and supporting service staff.
Essential Functions:
• Demonstrate Oxford Commons' core values: be humble, do whatever it takes, stay curious, and create connections
• Guest connection, recognition of VIPs, regular guests, and building relationships with new guests
• Recruit, interview, hire and train employees
• Provide timely performance reviews
• Provide coaching and progressive discipline
• Monitor FOH operations
• Oversee retail operations along with retail manager and host staff
• Daily administrative and operational tasks and responsibilities/ End of day reporting
• Oversee retail operations along with retail manager and host staff
• Assist with monthly inventory
• Ensure prompt and exemplary service
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of FOH
• Follow health department sanitation standards
• Establish positive relationships with the BOH team
• Communicate and coordinate with other departments and members of the leadership team
• Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Candidate Qualifications
• 3+ years' experience in similar positions or 5+ years fine dining experience
• Motivated to learn
• Knowledge of restaurant standards and trends
• Excellent time management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements
• Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the restaurant to another.
• Must be able to stand, walk, lift, bend and climb stairs for long periods of time.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, reach, push, twist, walk, crouch, and squat.
• Prolonged periods standing and walking.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
