RAND is seeking an Accountant to perform General Ledger accounting duties to support the financial transactions at RAND. The successful candidate will process and record the financial transactions related to Cash Management, Revenue recognition, and Fixed Assets. Additional tasks may range from recording journal entries, performing bank/general ledger account reconciliations, conducting fluctuation analysis; assist in the preparation of management reporting, quarterly/annual financial statements, rollforwards; compile supporting documentation and/or prepare supporting schedules for audit requests, as well as various other ad hoc projects as requested by management.Qualifications
Experience and understanding of accounting transactions requiredAbility to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independentlyExcellent communication, writing, and analytical skillsAbility to organize workflow in an efficient mannerAptitude to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracyResearch, compile, and analyze data for projects/reports as neededExperience in non-profit accounting strongly a plusProficient using MS Office suite requiredStrong Excel skills with experience with large data sets requiredExperience with the Workday ERP, a plusEducation Requirement
Minimum BS/BA in Finance, Business or Accounting. CPA / or working towards CPA a plus.Experience
Minimum of 1 year related to Business or Accounting but prefer 3 years.Location
Santa Monica - hybridSalary Range
$54,700 - $81,400. RAND considers a variety of factors when formulating an offer, including but not limited to, the specific role and associated responsibilities; a candidate’s work experience, education/training, skills, expertise; and internal equity. The salary range includes base pay plus RAND’s sabbatic pay (which provides additional compensation above base pay when vacation is taken).
