Since its inception, SentinelOne has been on a mission to make Security autonomous; to transform security operations from a reactive, high stakes grind into strategic, highly skilled knowledge work.We are looking for a Senior AI Research leader who can grow and inspire teams of globally-distributed researchers and engineers, to further advance that mission. As part of the AI Center of Excellence within the Engineering organization, the AI Research team undertakes both tactical and strategic projects, aimed at delivering products and enhancing SentinelOne’s AI capabilities.The ideal candidate will have:a track record of turning AI/ML research into successful capabilitiesa strategic understanding of the Security applications of AI/ML technologydemonstrated ability to lead teams of Researchers and Engineersstrong software engineering fundamentalsexperience in the training and tuning of large multi-modal modelsWhat Will You Do?

You'll collaborate primarily with the AI Platform team to develop net new capabilities that will be used across SentinelOne’s industry-leading platform. In the course of this, you will:Take responsibility for the planning and delivery of long and short term research projects, including:Improving assistant behavior through privacy preserving feedbackAutomatic gathering of threat and process intelligenceMethods for ranking diverse work items to maximise securityNovel LLM-based detection frameworksProvide technical Leadership and Guidance: establishing research and coding standards, system design principles, and best practices; guiding your teams in overcoming technical challenges while ensuring that our research base remains efficient and maintainableDrive Solution Architecture and Design: designing research programs and systems that meet the requirements of a diverse stakeholder groupLead Collaboration and communication: collaborating closely with other group members and stakeholders including project managers, product owners, and other engineering teams; ensuring that technical options and decisions, and project timelines, are clearly communicated to all stakeholdersModel Continuous Learning and Skill Development: helping the group and the broader team to stay up-to-date with the latest tools and techniques in both the machine learning and security fields; fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill development; mentoring more junior colleaguesWhat Skills and Experience Will You Need?

Master’s or Doctoral Degree in a quantitative science or engineering field.10+ years of experience solving complex problems using modern AI/ML techniques; at least five of them managing teams.Experience with the full system development lifecycle, from requirement gathering, research, design, implementation, testing, through deployment/launch and operationComfort working cross-functionally with Product and other Engineering teams.Complete mastery of a subset of the languages, frameworks and tools currently used in the development of data intensive, machine learning systems, e.g. Spark, Airflow, Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch.Ability to communicate project needs, status, outcomes and implications to technical and non-technical audiences, inside and outside the company.Candidates with any of the the following will be preferred:First-author publications at peer-reviewed AI conferencesExpertise in natural language processing, especially practical experience developing or tuning modern, transformer-based language or multi-modal modelsRepresentation learning from scratch, especially for temporal sequences, multi-modal objects.Lifelong learning systems driven by implicit and explicit product feedbackPractical reinforcement learning techniques.Why Us?
