RubinBrown - Private Equity

As Tax Manager – Private Equity Portfolio Company Services, you will play a key role in the delivery of Totally Satisfied Clients. From platform company acquisition, to bolt-on acquisitions, to eventual exit through sale or merger, you will help private equity-owned portfolio companies navigate the complex tax landscapes associated with these transactions both from a tax compliance, tax accounting, and tax planning perspective. You will develop deep business relationships with portfolio company financial executives, as well as private equity company management teams, delivering valuable tax services as a trusted business advisor.

Major Responsibilities

Provide outstanding tax compliance, accounting, and planning services to a broad range of private equity owned operating companies.

Demonstrate technical competence in partnership and/or corporate income tax (including Accounting for Income Taxes ASC 740).

Review and supervise the work of individuals or teams, ensuring timely, efficient, and accurate completion of engagements/assignments.

Serve as mentor, advisor, team leader, and/or Career Advocate (CA) to Team Members.

Provide Team Members with timely and candid performance feedback.

Recognize, research, document and satisfactorily resolve technical issues.

Assist with the generation of new business and help to identify opportunities to expand services to existing clients.

Preferred Experience/Background/Skills

CPA is required

Bachelors degree in Accounting or related degree

Five or more years of progressive tax compliance and planning experience in partnership taxation and/or similar experience in corporate income taxation and accounting for income taxes

Experience with tax purchase accounting is a plus

Ability to research technical issues and document results

Ability to supervise, coach, and develop individuals and/or large groups

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel required).

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strict adherence to professional ethics
