We are seeking a cleared or clearable
Principal Printed Circuit Board Design Layout Engineer
who is self-motivated, energetic with knowledge and experience in, Electrical PCB/PWB layout design and is interested in joining our highly skilled Hardware team to develop unique solutions critical to global security.
This role will support on-going programs and rapidly growing business. The perspective candidate will participate in the design of RF and high-speed digital boards, flexible circuits and antenna boards.
The selected engineer will:
Design and layout components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
Utilize computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as SolidWorks, NX or AutoCAD.
Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposals.
Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
Be able to handle QRC requests and understand priorities.
Layout RF and high speed digital boards, flex circuits and antenna boards. These types of boards require the knowledge to route power supplies and ball grid arrays.
Collaborate with engineers and team members for a win-win working environment and end goal.
Have good communication skills and experience interfacing with other engineers, management and the end customers.
Provides finished device approval and prepares customer application information.
Support configuration management activities
Verify final board schematics and design for design for manufacturability
Basic Qualifications:
5 years of related design experience with a Bachelor’s degree in STEM; 3 years with a Masters; 0 years with PhD
PWB Layout tools experience
US Citizenship is required
The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance (NG will sponsor)
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Top Secret Security Clearance
Experience with PADS VX
Experience with DxDesigner Schematic Capture VX
Experience with Xpedition experience
Experience with AutoCAD
Experience with CAM350
Experience with Teamcenter or Product Data Management (PDM) system
Self-starter and willing to learn new tools

The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work nine-hour days Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. The 4/10 schedule allows employees to work four ten-hour days Monday through Thursday and take off every
Salary Range:
$97,500 - $146,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
