We are industry-leading experts, and we work hard to encourage a collaborative and team-oriented environment.A Day in the Life of a Civil EngineerYou are at the forefront of brainstorming creative solutions for challenging projects. You support an interdisciplinary team to deliver multimodal transportation infrastructure in a wide range of contexts from roadway reconstructions and streetscapes in urban settings to signature trail projects in suburban and rural areas that highlight and enhance the natural environment. You use programs such as AutoCAD in order to fulfill production work on your projects. You will share your knowledge with staff and clients, to develop feasibility studies, concept plans, and construction documents, as well mentor your colleagues to ensure that our projects are consistently of the highest quality.Qualifications of a Civil Engineer:Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil engineering4+ years of experience in a related fieldEngineering in Training (EIT) Certification requiredPreference given to individuals with a PE and 5+ years of experience in a related fieldA broad knowledge base in civil engineering with a transportation focus and specific knowledge of horizontal and vertical roadway geometric design (MUTCD and AASHTO)Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3DDetailed design experience for intersection and corridor wide improvements, including, but not limited to, meeting minimum ADA and drainage requirementsExperience developing construction documents and cost estimatesExperience working on engineering projects for MassDOT or BTD is a plusExposure to construction management is a plusInterest in multimodal and active transportation design is preferredYou'll be great here if:You enjoy participating in multi-disciplinary teamsYou are passionate about sustainability and the opportunity to work on challenging multimodal projects that make communities more livableYou enjoy producing high-quality work products and seeing your projects get builtYou have strong communication skills, whether written, verbal, or graphicalWork Schedule for a Civil Engineer:This full-time position typically works a flexible full-time schedule of 40 hours a week. We also provide employees with the flexibility and necessary equipment to work from home. Our Northeast regional office is located in downtown Boston within a short walk to all of the major rapid transit lines and close to both North Station and South Station commuter rail lines.
