The Kalbasi laboratory studies the cancer-immune interface in various therapeutic contexts, especially T cell therapy, cytokines, and innate immune agonists. The laboratory conducts translational research with a disease emphasis on sarcoma and melanoma, and also has vested interest in understanding the immunologic basis of response and resistance to radiation therapy, one of the most widely used cancer therapies.The laboratory is seeking an individual to lead scientific experiments, including experimental design, execution, data analysis and data presentation (including written). The individual will also serve in a leadership role in the group, overseeing the design / execution / analysis of experiments by junior members of the lab, and ensuring that the laboratory functions smoothly, collaboratively and efficiently.The individual will be responsible for leading scientific projects, including design and execution of experiments, and analysis and presentation of data. In addition, the individual will assist other laboratory members with the design and execution of their experiments and will work alongside the PI to serve as a mentor to junior lab members. The individual will also participate in the training and development of students and post-doctoral fellows. The individual will work together with lab technicians to ensure the efficient operations of the lab, including maximizing the budget, ensuring appropriate care of major equipment, and addressing regulatory and administrative requirements. The individual will report to and work closely with the PI in these activities/responsibilities.QUALIFICATIONS/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Ph.D. in immunology, cancer biology or related field.Post-doctoral experience is preferred in immunology, cancer biology or related field is desired.Extensive experience with mouse models of cancer and immunotherapy is desired.Additional experience in molecular biology highly desired, especially genetic manipulation of immune and cancer cells (viral, CRISPR, etc).Additional experience in microscopy/image analysis and/or computational biology, is particularly welcome.Excellent communication and organization skills required.The expected pay range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000 per annum.Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position.
