About this opportunity:
Apple Valley News Now is seeking an innovative storyteller interested in anchoring local newscasts. We are looking for self-motivated, highly organized individuals with a strong work ethic. This position is located at KVEW-TV in Kennewick, Washington.
What you’ll do:
Anchor newscasts and news briefsDeliver news accurately; engage viewers with excitement, urgency and sharp witDevelop story ideas; shoot, edit and write local news stories for TV & digital platformsDemonstrate editorial judgment using knowledge of journalism ethics and libel lawsProduce newscasts & other roles as assigned by news directorPublish content and generate story ideas through social media sites like Facebook and XEnterprise compelling stories for newscasts, website and other platformsShoot and edit video with TV news cameras, digital devices, production software and appsCollaborate with co-workers on the best way to present/report storiesProduce stories that our target audience will find valuable and relevant to their livesMaintain contacts and foster relationships in the community
What you’ll bring:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related fieldTeam player mindsetAbility to edit using Edius preferred but not requiredMinimum four years of experience as a multimedia journalist/anchorFour-year degree in journalism, communications or equivalent field preferredAbility to present news stories professionally from a TV studioSound editorial judgment and broad knowledge of journalism ethics and libel lawsStrong broadcast and AP style writing skillsAbility to work under extreme pressure and meet deadlines every dayAbility to lift and carry 15 pounds

Pay range: $22/hour - $27/hour
