Purpose Statement
Shift: 5:00 am to 6:30 pm Friday- Sunday
The Material Handler is responsible for shipping, receiving and transporting packaging, ingredients, and finished goods for the facility.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
Observes all safety rules and regulations including use of personal protective equipment and material handling. Follows all established Good Manufacturing Practices, including maintaining an orderly and clean work area. Maintain forklifts by daily inspecting batteries, water levels, lights, horn, tires, mirrors, oil levels, backup beep indicators, etc. Verify all deliveries/discrepancies by inspecting materials through physically counting and comparing the amount printed on the delivery receipt. Enter necessary documentation of delivery receipts or material handling into the company''s computer system. Organize/rotate old materials with new. Housekeeping: daily remove/fix any dirty, torn, hanging, broken wood, packaging, ingredients etc. Assist management with inventory balances through physical cycle counts. Label any open/partial ingredient and packaging. Check production schedules daily to stage packaging and ingredients if needed. Performs all other warehouse and freezer duties. Must be able to operate all forklift equipment Must be trained and recertified annually for forklift license Must be able to work in an extremely cold environment Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
High school diploma or GED required. Must read, write and speak English. Must possess basic math and computer skills. Able to work with minimal supervision. One year or more material handling experience. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Be able to regularly stand, reach, bend, and move about the facility. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Hearing ability to meet manufacturing facility safety requirements.
