Job Summary

A Principal Strategy Analyst is responsible for analyzing and evaluating an organization's overall business strategy and performance. Their role includes the collection, research and analysis of IT-related data, processes and strategies to discover trends for continuous improvement and peak performance. They will be expected to manage insights and recommendations for improvement in tools, metrics and processes to ensure alignment with IT strategy. The Principal Strategy Analyst is expected to communicate with senior leadership regularly and support the development of a long-term organizational strategy.

Job Responsibilities

•Become the UNITE Core Team Member, which is the primary point of contact for UNITE at PSEG. UNITE (Utility Information Technology Best Practices Program) is an information technology benchmarking and best practices consortium initiated by Southern Company Services. Some responsibilities as a UNITE Core Team Member as documented in the UNITE Governance Model includes ensuring information exchanges include the correct subject matter experts (SMEs) and occur within the proper timeframe; coordinating and collecting PSEG data for benchmarking; creating and managing a full internal project plan for UNITE data collection participation.

•Become the UNITE Survey Coordinator, which is responsible for overseeing the survey process at PSEG.

•Collect, research and analyze data and reports on IT strategy and performance, including but not limited to IT operational metrics, tools, and procedures. Use external resources and build working relationships across the industry to gather data and information timely and accurately. Prepare presentations and reports for senior leadership extracting key themes and outlining recommendations for next steps. Present on insight and provide input on the material collected for continuous improvement.

•Maintain and continuously improve IT's strategic processes and materials for maximum benefit, including the facilitation of strategy sessions and ongoing interactions with the business and other Service Company organizations. Become a leader within our peer groups across the industry as well as resource within IT that project and continuous improvement teams can leverage for information.

•Create and maintain an annual benchmarking plan that includes presenting regular updates to IT SLT and other senior leaders, and providing a monthly or YE report with research and best practices that tie to IT strategy (for example, a monthly summary of UNITE surveys).

Job Specific Qualifications

Required (Education, Experience, Skills, Knowledge):

•Bachelors’ degree in business, finance, management, or another analytical field

•A minimum of 8 years’ experience in analytical, quantitative, and qualitative analysis

•Hands-on experience with MS products and data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI)

•Advanced experience in data mining, query and report design with the ability to create a product that can be shared with many types of audiences

•Experience with predictive analytics tools and techniques

•Ability to develop new approaches with applicable tools to measure success

•Detail oriented, driven and able to effectively work independently

•Work well with limited supervision while being responsible for project management, compliance assurance and risk mitigation

•Ability to work effectively across department boundaries and maintain positive relationships with cross functional partners

•Experience collaborating with and providing thought leadership to executive leadership teams

•Experience prioritizing and managing multiple and technically complex assignments concurrently

•Maintain flexibility and readily adapt to dynamic priorities

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•Comfortable with public speaking and giving presentations to a variety of audiences and facilitating process improvement teams

•Must foster an inclusive work environment and respect all aspects of diversity
