Our client is a general contractor & Framing Contractor based in San Diego, California specializing in new construction multi-family and commercial projects. They operate as a comprehensive design, construction, and development company with a specialized division dedicated to framing and mass timber erection. Our primary focus is on internal projects ranging from 20 to 150 units, which we own. Additionally, we extend our expertise as subcontractors for framing and mass timber erection tasks. Holding both B general contracting and A general engineering licenses as well as having licensed architects on staff, we bring a versatile skill set to the construction industry.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role based in San Diego, CA for a Framing Estimator / Project Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing multiple aspects of the project from estimation to completion, working closely with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all necessary regulations. This role will require experience in construction management, project coordination, and excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, project coordination, and framing estimation for commercial and multi-family projects
Experience with construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or PlanGrid
Excellent organizational, communication, and negotiation skills
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts
Ability to do takeoffs and prepare material lists
Experience with subcontractor management and scheduling
Knowledge of all construction trades with a focus on electrical, mechanical, and plumbing
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
OSHA 30 certification is preferred
Cad / ability to put together shop drawings preferred
Roles & Responsibilities
Coordination with general contractors & architects
Prepare Bids for projects ranging from single family homes to large multifamily and commercial buildings.
Perform takeoffs for lumber & hardware
Prepare Lists by level / phase
Prepare cut sheets with stud heights, cut lists ect.
