The Marriott Orlando Downtown Hotel in Orlando, FL is searching for a Sales Manager to join our team. Located in the Creative Village in downtown Orlando, the hotel has 297 guest rooms with views of the downtown Orlando Skyline. This great full-service Marriott Hotel has 15 meeting rooms with 15,992 sq. ft. of space, an onsite Starbucks, Shade Bar and Grill, Fitness Center, and Outdoor Pool.
Job summary : Our Sales manager enjoys making meaningful sociable connections in the community. Their energy, motivation and creativity result in forming trusting and long lasting customer partnerships. Our Sales Manager achieves the overall success of the hotel by exceeding the hotel's sales targets with their proactive sales efforts and ability to drive additional business opportunities through networking and relationships.
Makes outside sales calls, conducts site inspections, entertains clients, and attends tradeshows and sales missions associated with applicable assigned market segment.Negotiate group business, guest room rates, meeting room rental and hotel services within assigned markets that meets or exceeds hotel revenue goals.Assist with all group rooming list, daily inspection of guest folio, communication with front office on group arrival, communication with accounting regarding guest billing and communication with revenue management on group room blocks.Meets and greets client upon check-in at hotel upon arrival for group business in house.Develops, maintains and prospects a Target List of accounts and communicates updates to DOS.Establishes relationships with local businesses and organizations and is active member in local industry associationsMaintains efficient reporting on a weekly basis.Actively participates (when necessary) in forecasting, strategy meetings & discussions and annual budget process.Performs Sales Audits of Marriott systems to ensure information accuracy in SFAweb/CI/TY required to pass monthly Marriott DQI thresholds.Assists Sales Managers on all key components of direct sales process to solicit existing and new clients, foster additional business, and repeat bookings.Meets and exceeds customer expectations by ensuring department provides customer service and teamwork.Assist property in maximizing use of all company, brand and local CVB programs.Participates in pre-con and post-con meetings at hotel.Participates in solving problems with other department as required related to business booked in the hotel including space conflicts, threatened cancellations, and compromises between customer needs and hotel facilities.Determines, communicates, and monitors achievement of standards of performance on a timely basis.Must be flexible in all market segments to maximize revenues. These include, and are not limited to: Group Sales, ASSOCIATION and/or SMERFE market segments.Must learn and become proficient in all Marriott Systems within 30 days of hire date. SFAweb, CI/TY, MRDW, MARRFP and other pertinent systems required to perform the job.Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.Experience
4 Year college degree preferred or equivalent work experience2 years hotel group sales experience for a major hotel chain or management companyProficient in SFAweb/CI/TY and other Marriott Sales Systems is a plus, but not required
