Position Summary This position, in collaboration with the brand team members, is a key point of contact for Visit California’s brand advertising agency of record for working with industry and media partners in the execution of campaign programs. These programs include the development and execution of the global leveraged media co-op programming and corresponding creative development across Visit California brand campaigns.
The Global Strategic Media Partnerships Manager is responsible for overseeing the Visit California’s campaign structure and the execution of the creative across multiple media environments. The Manager also works with select global media partners to develop strategic extensions that support Visit California’s goals.
This position assists in the review and support the executive presentation of media initiatives and ensure the highest level of performance, media efficiency and integration across the global media program. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Key Duties & Responsibilities: Manage the cooperative marketing and industry collaboration programs, including joint strategy development, plan execution, and management, working closely with Brand USA and International Marketing. Act as the key point of contact for industry planning, communication and reporting, ensuring alignment with industry stakeholders' individual business needs, partnering with team members and cross-functional partners to execute marketing programs effectively. Respond to partnership opportunities including activations and align with potential travel-related and non-endemic partners, fostering strategic alliances. Conduct analysis of partnership marketing opportunities as it relates to media investment with National and Global reach, and in collaboration with Visit California's brand team and advertising agency, ensuring alignment with campaign goals and objectives. Collaborate closely with industry stakeholders to execute partnerships and campaigns include global leverage co-op that will support their individual business needs while aligning with Visit California's goals and objectives. Ensure integration and performance across global media programs, reviewing and supporting executive presentations of media initiatives. Ensure that any partnerships align with the overall Visit California campaign goals, maintaining consistency in messaging and brand positioning. Estimated % of Time Per Activity 50%
Develop and manage an integrated media marketing plan, working directly with advertising and media agencies and other related media partners and resources to execute the brand advertising plan. 30%
Work with operation and finance teams to ensure that all cooperative marketing partnership budgets are maintained. This role includes program oversight for the partnership and cooperative marketing budget as well as leveraged media expenses. 10%
Work across the travel industry to establish stakeholder meetings and outreach to collaborate on joint marketing programs. 5%
Develop industry reporting and communications specific to the media program of work. Contribute to committee meeting reports and presentations. 5% Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
Essential Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key duty satisfactorily: Ability to develop, manage and communicate advertising media plans. Demonstrate experience in advertising, media, and agency management, including media buying process, maintenance, reporting and media reconciliation. Media agency experience preferred. Strong knowledge of digital media platforms and best practices. Demonstrated experience with budget management of large-scale branded advertising campaigns. Experience in expertly managing agency resource as well as internal staff. Professional experience in the tourism industry preferred. Education equivalent to a bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing, advertising, recreation, tourism, or related field a plus. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work within a fast-paced environment. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills. The ability to represent California brand proposition to industry stakeholders and partners. Collaborative. Self-aware. Adaptable. Inclusive.
