The Marketing Area is a vibrant, ambitious and collegial community that highly values excellence in research, teaching, and service. We currently have twelve full-time faculty (tenure line and term) in the area. Our Area conducts managerially relevant research using a variety of methodologies. The Marketing Area faculty have published in many of the premier journals including Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Marketing, Marketing Science, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Operations Management, and Academy of Management Journal, as well as many other top journals. Our faculty have many diverse teaching interests. The Area seeks to continue developing innovative courses in all aspects of marketing. The Marketing Area teaching faculty have won awards within the College, at the University and in outside organizations for excellence in teaching and contributions to teaching. Within the Area, the College and the University, there are opportunities to develop teaching skills and use new methodologies and approaches.

About the Position:The Marketing area of the Donald G Costello College of Business at George Mason University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Marketing faculty appointment. The position will start in Fall 2025. This is a full-time position with benefits. Salary will be commensurate with qualification and experience.Teaches Marketing courses in undergraduate and graduate programs. Conducts high quality research, teaches effectively, and positively contributes to the academic environment. Provides service to the Marketing Area, the Costello College of Business, the University, the profession, and interfaces with the business community. Marketing faculty are also part of the Marketing area, one of the six areas of the Costello College of Business.Responsibilities:Conducts high-quality research for publication in top-tier academic journals and teaches marketing courses in undergraduate and/or graduate programs. The teaching load for this position is determined according to the College's workload policy, which specifies an initial load of 9 credits for candidates with fresh PhDs; andAdditional responsibilities include service to the Marketing Area, the Costello College of Business, the University, the profession, and interfacing with the business community.Required Qualifications:Terminal degree in a related field;Ph.D. from an AACSB-accredited school in Marketing or closely related field prior to the start date. For doctoral students, there must be clear evidence of the ability to complete degree by the start date;Evidence or the potential to publish in in top-tier marketing academic journals;Evidence or the potential to teach effectively at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels; andGood citizenship in terms of service and the ability to work well with colleagues are essential.Preferred Qualifications:Prior teaching experience with or interest in teaching and developing courses in marketing analytics or related analytics courses;Research interests related to managerial issues within any sub-field or specialization in marketing; andDemonstrable competence in advanced data analysis such as machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, or advanced econometric analysis.Instructions to Applicants:For full consideration, applicants must apply for
