Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate and direct all activities for the marketing department and to increase/maintain census through the sales process.Essential Job Functions Duties and ResponsibilitiesMarketing and Sales FunctionsDevelop, maintain, and implement a marketing plan. Identify new and potential referral sources and develop productive relationships.Participates in the planning and implementation of marketing events designed to drive referrals, enhance community awareness and recognition within the market area.Manage prospects and leads through the sales process through move-in.Develop and maintain a database of community contacts for the campus.Represents the facility at community and professional events on and off site to educate and inform the participants on the facility's capabilities and product offerings.With facility leadership, establish effective public relations programs as needed.Maintain weekly productivity goals to achieve the number of leads and deposits.Must be able to work flexible hours as needed which may exceed 40 hours per week and may include nights/weekends.Budget and Planning FunctionsAssist in preparing and planning the department's budget and submit to the Regional Director of Sales and Marketing and Executive Director for review, recommendations, and approval.Maintain current written records of department expenditures and ensure that adequate financial records and costs reports are submitted to the Executive Director upon request or as necessary.Manage marketing inventory and stay within the projected budget at all times.PersonnelDetermine staffing requirements necessary to meet the department's needs. Assist in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of dining services personnel.Develop, plan, conduct, and schedule relevant in-service training and orientation classes that provide instructions on how to do the job.Ensure the staff participate in training programs and meet federal and state in-service requirements.Assist in staff development. Formally and informally monitor performance personnel and ensure adjustments/corrections are made by using coaching, counseling, and discipline methods. Work with the Executive Director to resolve staff performance issues including those that may lead to termination.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism. Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. Must be able to work with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility. Must be able to speak, write and understand English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, employees, residents, and families.Education and Experience
Prefer bachelor degree and/or 3 years experience in Sales and Marketing.
Prefer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, Outlook) and sales and marketing tools.Licensing/Certifications
