Overview:

MRTx seeks to hire an individual to work cross-functionally with the R&D group to develop a rigorous portfolio strategy for Monte Rosa Tx. Evaluate novel target biology/mechanism, development path, competitive landscape, and commercial market potential to support go/no-go decisions. Develop indication prioritization strategy and commercial evaluations and forecasts for MRTx portfolio programs. Lead ongoing competitive intelligence analysis. Assist Business Development with evaluation of collaboration and licensing deals.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the R&D group to prioritize discovery targets for Monte Rosa

Evaluate attractiveness of biology/mechanism, development path, competitive landscape, commercial market potential

Work with data sciences team to enable AI driven tools for target evaluation and competitive intelligence

Develop commercial/market evaluations and product forecast models to support product planning and business development efforts

Integrate and effectively communicate key strategic implications

Support indication prioritization strategy for Monte Rosa pipeline programs incorporating assessments of scientific/technical, commercial and development aspects

Collaborate closely with clinical development group and other functions

Provide assessment frameworks, facilitate discussions, and craft recommended strategies

Support overall portfolio strategy and prioritization process

Coordinate with relevant groups at MRTx to assemble inputs on commercial potential, development costs and risk profiles and integrate assumptions into forecast models

Work with business and research teams to define key portfolio decisions and provide analysis to facilitate informed decisions

Communicate portfolio information and insights to management.

Lead ongoing competitive intelligence efforts for pipeline programs

Evaluate competitive pipeline/marketed programs in indications of interest

Create regular updates for leadership team and board of directors

Gather and analyze information on industry/market trends, industry partnerships and competitive activities

Qualifications:

Ability to use business skills in a highly scientific environment, work seamlessly with MRTx R&D groups, and understand the specific nature of the drug discovery and development environment

An independent thinker who can draw insights and conclusions

Life sciences PhD.

10 or more years relevant experience at life sciences strategy consulting firm, hedge fund, or biopharma new product planning or R&D strategy group. MBA or equivalent demonstrated experience (e.g. experience in a top tier consulting firm)

Possess an understanding of biotech business at the strategic level.

Ability to apply effective tools and techniques to bring clarity to complex issues.

Outstanding interpersonal/communication skills and excellent presentation skills are essential, with a demonstrated ability to communicate and negotiate at all levels of the organization including senior management.
