Pine Gate Renewables is seeking an Associate Project Development Engineer to perform engineering and development support tasks for utility-scale photovoltaic systems. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, self-motivated, and results oriented. What You’ll Do Create conceptual design layouts and exhibits for PV power plants utilizing AutoCAD Civil3D, PVcase, and other design software. Utilize GIS information to evaluate the viability of project. Create preliminary SEC designs and calculations. Create energy models utilizing Plant Predict and PV syst software. Support EPC estimates by designing and documenting cost-impacting site features. Support Interconnection Engineers in creating utility interconnection applications. Work with Project Managers to solve problems related to land-use, system configuration, energy production, and construction cost. Create conceptual layouts of utility-scale energy storage sites. Additional duties as assigned and/or directed. Must-Haves 1+ years of PV Design and/or Civil Engineering experience preferred. Passion for learning new concepts, processes, and efficiencies. Ability to work in a team environment. Creative problem-solving spirit. Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. AutoCAD experience. Microsoft Office proficiency, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Teams. PVcase, PVSYST, and/or Plant Predict software proficiency preferred. Education and Certifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent technology. Working Environment and Physical Demand Some travel may be required. This position may be located in Asheville, NC or fully remote.
