In this role, you have the opportunity to use your research and analytical skills, and development/fundraising experience to make a meaningful difference in your community and help change lives across San Diego. The Prospect Researcher plays an integral role on the team and supports the entire agency by managing the identification and qualification of prospective donors in support of funding Jewish Family Service of San Diego through individual and institutional giving. This position provides comprehensive research reports to the gift officers for the purpose of cultivating a moves management and stewardship program for annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, foundations, and corporate giving. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Advancement Services and works closely with all members of the Development department.Responsibilities

:Works independently and in collaboration with giving officers and Sr. Director of Advancement Services on the identification and qualification of fundraising prospects through donor database and various research media toolsConducts research and provides information and briefing reports for Senior Leadership and Development Officers in regards to prospects and their giving capacities and inclinations to give to JFS programsResponsible for continuously improving and streamlining the research process, exploring and identifying tools, sources, template creation, and best practices to incorporateResponsible for maintaining an awareness and tracking system for prospects in the various stages of cultivation and stewardshipWorks closely with other members of the Advancement Services team to maintain data integrity and donor confidentialitySkills/Abilities/Experience That are a Must-Have:A minimum of 2 years’ experience in fundraising, prospect research and management, or business development, or a combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities that can be demonstratedBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferredAn understanding of development and demonstrated experience with best fundraising and moves management practicesOutstanding ability to prioritize and manage a high volume of requests and projects with competing deadlines while maintaining a keen attention to detail and accuracyExcellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skillsAbility to effectively communicate research and analysis to Development Officers and Senior LeadershipExperience with prospect research resources and applications such as WealthEngine, LexisNexis, Target Analytics, etc., is a plusDetail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, and a team playerStrong initiative, resourcefulness and problem-solving skillsSkills/Abilities We’d like you to Have
