Essential Functions Statement(s)All Material Handlers•Operates a lift truck by driving backwards and twisting to be able to look in the direction oftravel on a continual basis.•Operates a lift truck all shift.•Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and auxiliaryequipment, such as cleaning or recharging batteries, and refers defects or repairs tosupervisor/ maintenance.•Moves controls to drive battery-powered lift trucks and transport materials betweenloading, unloading, processing, and storage areas.•Moves levers and controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams andswivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack material.•Positions lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes, and securematerial or products for transport to designated areas.•Manually loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, or lifting devices.•Reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.•Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.•Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
Unloader•Unloads products from inbound carriers (truck and rail cars).•Verifies that the product received is identified and counted accurately.•Inspects condition of all received product.•Moves and places product safely and securely in its proper storage location.Extraordinary Service for Over a Century.
Preloader•Receives and reads preload orders.•Fills orders by accurately picking product from storage and staging that product on a spotutilizing stacking guidelines.•Inspects and loads trucks and arranges the products with the cube of the trailer accordingto recommended loading practices and guidelines.•Uses scanning devise and computer as needed to perform tasks.•Checks printout for shortages, over-counts and incorrect model numbers.•Corrects shortages, over-counts and incorrect models where possible.Truck Loaders•Inspects trailers before loading products.•Counts units on preload spot and compares with shipping documents.•Moves products from the preload spot, and directly from storage when required, into thetrailer.•Arranges the products within the cube of the trailer according to recommended loadingpractices and guidelines.•Properly secures the load for travel.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONSCompetency Statement(s)•Attendance - Ability to work required schedule and arrive at work on time. Ability andwillingness to work the voluntary/mandatory overtime that is required during the busyseason.•Communication - Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally in a courteousand professional manner with others. Ability to understand and follow verbal and writteninstruction.•Mathematics- Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication anddivision) in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability tocompute rate, ratio, and percentage.•Language - Ability to identify and compare letters and numbers. Ability to read andinterpret documents such as receivers, invoices, operating instructions and proceduremanuals.
