Job Summary:
As a Systems Designer in the Custom Integration (CI) industry, you are a technical expert with in-depth product knowledge such as Control4, Qolsys, Alarm.com, Ubiquiti, Lutron Homeworks/Ra2&3/shading, etc., as well as fundamentals such as networking, audio and video, low voltage, security, access control, surveillance, lighting, etc. The role collaborates with Sales to evaluate the client's needs and lifestyle, specify the system's functionality and performance, and design the wiring scheme, product mix, and user interface concepts. A designer must have a full understanding of the equipment, how it works, how it is controlled, and stay up to date on emerging technologies and unique products that can be used to solve unique challenges and innovate. Since the most important part of our industry is now integration and control, a designer needs to have a solid knowledge of each subsystem that will be part of the larger integrated system.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Design Systems, creating standard product sets, and solving custom client requests
R&D, keeping up to date, innovate and solve end of life products
Create documentation that includes floor plans, line drawings, rack drawings, etc.
Reviewing and approving designs from Sales to verify the efficacy and accuracy
Collaborating with Sales in client design meetings to capture scope and cast vision
Solve production challenges in the field for system design issues
Minimum Job Requirements:
≥ 5 years of technical experience in the CI industry.
Certification in control products as well as CEDIA and Avixa
Masterful grasp of fundamentals in signal flow, networking, low and high-voltage, Audio and Video, etc.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Highly detailed, organized, and multitask driven
Competent skills in desktop and mobile computing
Industry design software such as CAD, Vizio, D-Tools, etc.
Clean driving record and background check
Location & Hours:
Reporting Location: 1117 Baker Street, Ste. B, Costa Mesa CA 92626
Remote work will be considered.
Available to be on-site in our work area, primarily within Southern California
Full-Time, Monday - Friday
