More staff & field machinists are being hired on an on-going basis, and they continue to develop new innovative field machining and safety equipment to increase their technical capabilities.Job DetailsSummaryResponsible for basic programming, fixturing, tool set-up, machining, in process inspection, and final completion of moderately tolerance details (+/- 0.005). Work with machining personnel, field machinists, engineers, and supervisors to plan and execute the most cost-effective method for producing quality parts.Exhibit and enforce a culture where safety is the first priority!Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.Operates 3 axis vertical and horizontal machining centers or turning centers.Under technical supervision, performs basic/moderate machiningFor basic jobs, layout work from blueprints, sketches, and written specifications For basic jobs, develop processes, create part programs, select tooling, and perform setupsPerform progressive machining operations on work involving moderate tolerances and finish requirementsEnsure dimensional accuracy and quality workmanship Complete required inspections, and appropriate paperwork Provide feedback to improve programs, processes, tooling etcMaintain a safe, orderly, and clean work areaPerform shop duties as directed and required.

RequirementsQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.EducationHigh school diploma or GED/HSED, requiredJourneyman or 2-year technical degree, preferredExperience & SkillsTwo to three years of progressively responsible related experience. Specifically, this position requires:Experience (2-3 years) with CNC machiningAbility to read and interpret blueprints & mechanical drawingsAbility to operate CNC machining equipmentKnowledge of carbide drills, end mills, inserted cutters, and boring toolingKnowledge of Haas machining centers (vertical, horizontal and/or turning), preferredKnowledge of G&L boring mills, preferred Knowledge of G & M code programmingKnowledge of feeds & speedsKnowledge of the machineability of ferrous and non-ferrous materials Ability to measure/inspect: lengths, diameters, straightness, flatness, etcBasic knowledge of GD & T Basic ability with conversational programmingBasic ability to program using a CAM system, preferably Mastercam.Interested in hearing more?
