Job Description Summary

Responsible for the development and support of the Business Intelligence Analytics products and platforms including but not limited to data warehouse, data visualizations and interactive reports. Responsible for applying Business Intelligence and Analytics subject matter expertise (data modeling, data discovery, BI product offering development and conceptual insurance acumen) to provide the business support departments with the tools and data representations which allow increasing organizational profit and meeting strategic goals.

Continuously develops and maintains an understanding of Business Intelligence technology and architecture, including data warehousing, dimensional modeling, OLAP functionality, reporting tools, and other methods of information deliveryDevelop & maintains expertise with MSBI toolsDevelop database and/or data presentation solutions to deliver information to end-users accurately and efficientlyExtracts, transforms, & loads data using data management tools and T-SQLAnalyze, understand, and document user needs to ensure accurate fulfillment of user story requests from internal business customersContribute to, and possibly lead, project teams that are developing or modifying highly complex information solutionsAdministers & maintains the BI Portal, data warehouse, and existing BI solutionsContinuously develops expertise in the data and data models within the data warehouse, as well as an understanding of supported business domainsMay construct data models, data dictionaries, and report glossariesMay conduct user interviews and training sessionsMay mentor teammates on BI tools and methodsConducts and may facilitate internal testing and user acceptance testing

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience. Minimum of 2 - 5 years (depending on the level) work experienceStrong understanding of BI concepts & toolsDemonstrated ability to write SQL/TSQL queries to retrieve modify dataPrevious experience with BIDS/MSBI StackAbility to abstract a concept into a series of lifecycle components and events.Significant experience developing physical dimensional models, OLAP processes or data visualizationsSignificant experience in data modeling, data discovery and the application of data to solve business problemsProven problem solving ability and a willingness to think “outside-the-box”

Preferred Qualifications

Strong Experience with MSBI toolsExperience with AWSModerate to advanced skills with MS Excel, including Office data connections and pivot tablesExperience utilizing Kimball method of Data WarehousingConceptual, logical and/or Physical data modeling experience is a plusInsurance Industry experience preferredWorking knowledge of multiple IT platformsAbility to anticipate future needs and challengesOrganizational and prioritization skills and effective judgmentCan make timely decisions with appropriate information.Strong communication and relationship building skills.

Working Conditions

Work from Home/RemotePlease note that the compensation information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation. **

Compensation:

The salary for this position generally ranges between $80,000 - 115,000. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.

Bonus Eligibility:

This position is also typically eligible for an annual bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at Company Discretion at a rate of 10%
