for Reading Truck Equipment is responsible to identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, reduce cost, design assist tools for assembly processes, create efficiency gains through waste removal and create/document standard work for branch unification across the business.May be remote based or based out of one of our US branch locations
(see website for our list of branch locations)Frequent Travel is required via car and plane.The Nuts and BoltsNew Acquisition Facility Layout Development:Utilize AutoCAD and Solidworks to design facility and equipment layoutsAnalyze layouts with simulation tools ensuring optimal workflow, productivity and space utilizationCollaborate with cross-functional teams to align layouts with production requirements and safety standardsCapital Equipment Expenditure Requests:Prepare detailed and comprehensive capital equipment expenditure requests, justifying the need, project benefits and outlining the expected financial return on investmentProject Scope, Timeline and Budget Adherence and Contractor Management:Develop and manage project scopes, timelines and milestones, tracking progress to ensure projects are completed on time.Manage project budgets effectively, identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring projects are completed within budget constraintsSource, select, and manage contractors for various projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, project timelines, scopes and budgetsProvide management reports that track performance to goalsFacility Systems Maintenance and Improvement:Support the maintenance and improvement of product flow and the facility’s systemsDevelop conceptual designs and evaluate the effectivenessIdentify process improvement projects to reduce lead time, improve inventory turnover, scrap and rework, direct labor cost savings, and equipment reliabilityEstablish a Standardized Work tool/process and launch with production supervisors and team membersSupport material flow improvements in scheduling (Kanban, sequencing, kitting) and material handling methodsRequired CredentialsMinimum of (five) 5 years in manufacturing environment – performing similar project engineering workBachelor Degree required; Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferredAutoCAD and Solid works skills requiredAbility to Travel on a regular basis (up to 60%) to RTE locationsHow We Make an ImpactAt Reading Truck, we have more than 65 years of industry leadership in the manufacture, distribution, and enhancement of work truck bodies.
