Job Description

The Enterprise Data Management & Governance team supports Pluralsight’s overall mission and objectives by way of ensuring the accuracy of customer data within Salesforce CRM. The Data Quality Analyst role is responsible for the management and fitness of critical customer data elements, including but not limited to firmographic and financial information. This role will apply processes to ensure Pluralsight’s customer database rigorously adheres to Data Governance policies and principles.

In this role, you will need to use your knowledge of data governance best practices, along with standard methodologies for data analysis, and analytics architecture to function collaboratively within a team environment. We are looking for someone who will apply software engineering standard methodologies to analytics code via the utilization of version control, testing and validation processes, and continuous integration.

What You’ll Own

Developing queries to identify data inconsistencies and exceptions, as well as cleaning data

Performing statistical tests on large datasets to determine data quality and integrity.

Establishing key data quality metrics and developing dashboards that provide insights into data accuracy and integrity.

Reporting data analysis findings to the Data Governance team, allowing for data-driven decision making.

Improving observability in our data environment, including uptime, usage, data quality, and data freshness

Utilizing data cleansing tools and techniques to clean up data, ensuring that it adheres to quality standards; enriching data by appending missing information from trusted external sources, enhancing the value and accuracy of the data.

Modeling from an enterprise perspective rather than from a single business function perspective

Provide data modeling expertise through code reviews and training to help deliver optimal, DRY, and scalable database designs and queries

Process improvement via automation

Create and maintain documentation on processes, policies, application configuration and help-related materials as applications are developed

Experience You’ll Need

3+ years of taking a multidisciplinary approach to data development: we emphasize picking the right tool for the job

3+ years of demonstrable experience with data warehousing architecture and data modeling standard methodologies

Deep experience with a number of data tools: e.g. SQL, Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake, Hadoop, Python, AWS

Managed systems with sophisticated dependency management and orchestration requirements

Experience with orchestration and administration of EDW and Data application environments (e.g., Snowflake, Tableau, Fivetran, etc.)

Strong capability to manipulate and analyze complex, abundant data from various sources

Effective communication skills with technical team members as well as business partners. Able to distill complex ideas into straightforward language

Ability to tackle problems independently and prioritize work based on the anticipated business value
