Staff Systems Engineer

to join our team!This position will primarily be located at the SIGINT Technology Center's (STC) in Chantilly supporting the Alchemy Program team. The STC is where technology and teamwork come together to meet the unique needs of the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense. The STC is comprised of multiple mission-focused programs with projects ranging from Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) SIGINT payload and data link development to OCONUS/CONUS mission/maintenance support. STC tasks include system design, engineering development, system integration, hands-on build and test, field operations and maintenance, training, and production.Roles and Responsibilities:

Develop system architectures based on evolving mission needs, emerging technologies, operational environment, and schedule milestones.Document various architectural views in briefings and documents and communicate capabilities, features, and gaps to various stakeholders including management, executive leadership, and customers.Lead a team of engineers in all aspects of the System Engineering process. Use Systems Engineering tools and processes, beginning with conceptual design through testing, delivery, and operations.Collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team to upgrade and improve developmental and fielded systems to maximize uptime and capability.Lead studies with cross-functional teams to validate and derive requirements for a family of systems, system segments, subsystems, and components.Define architecture functions, behavior, and interfaces of components.Allocate requirements from various sources to those components.Use modern System Engineering tools and Model Based System Engineering Tools (e.g. Cameo) to document architecture, components, structure, behavior, and requirements for analysis and communication to design and test teams.Work with the testing team to construct requirements verification traceability matrix.Document methods for verification so that the components, subsystems, segments, systems, and families of systems can achieve their role in the mission.Document faults and failures of tests and operations to provide basis for updating architectures or requirements.Develop and execute troubleshooting procedures for use in CONUS/OCONUS test sites, System Integration Labs (SILs), and real-time operations.Perform other engineering roles as required to support the development, integration, testing, and delivery, and operations of systems.Basic Qualifications:

Qualified applicant must have 14 Years of experience with a bachelor's in science; 12 Years with Masters; 9 Years with PhD or will accept 18 years of experience in lieu of a degreeActive DOD Secret with the ability to get a TS/SCIStrong interdisciplinary problem-solving skills, demonstrated by frequent and successful application of technical standards, theories, concepts, and techniquesPrevious experience as SEIT Lead (or similar position) over a multi-discipline team with hardware deliverablesKnowledge of RF system components & functionsKnowledge of hardware and functions of SIGINT/EW systems and workflowsPreferred Qualifications:

An active TS/SCIKnowledge of INCOSE Systems Engineering processDOORS and Cameo implementation and usageKnowledge of modern wireless communication systemsExperience briefing technical material to customers at milestone events (PDR, CDR, etc)Knowledge of interferometry, TDOA/FDOA, ranging systems and geolocation algorithmsBachelor of Science in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering degreeSalary Range:

$165,000 - $247,600The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
