About The Team

The SmartThings Product Platform Team is looking for an energetic, focused and skilled product manager to be part of the evolution of the SmartThings platform. The Product Manager will help define and drive initiatives aimed at evolving major areas of our product offerings, specific to the broad platform impacts. You will own key areas of our product, requirements and functionality, defining and prioritizing features to add to the platform addressing customer known (and unknown) needs. This is an incredible opportunity to shape the next phase of SmartThings.

About The Role

As a Product Manager, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams as you manage the product development lifecycle. This is an important and strategic role within the company that requires product thinking combined with technical depth to deliver the maximum tactical and strategic impact of our engineering capabilities, as the roadmap you define and bring to fruition will be fundamental to providing a best-in-class user experience for one of the biggest brands in the world.

Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate on the product strategy, from concept to launch, and influence executive stakeholders and business units to gain buy-in.Identify new ways to raise the bar in how SmartThings chooses initiatives that exceed expectations for customers.Understand market needs and deeply identify with customers in order to provide a world-class customer experience.Collaborate with SmartThings business development, engineering, and other product managers to bring novel and exclusive opportunities to the market.Coordinate and sync product initiatives across different internal teams, by establishing shared vision and getting buy-in.Collaborate with engineers to overcome roadblocks and evaluate trade-offs when appropriate.Monitor and measure success metrics after launch by incorporating feedback into the product development process.Collaborate with internal partners to run data-driven experiments, usability studies, and analysis to inform product direction.Communicate product plans, benefits, and results to all audiences in formal presentations at the team and organization level.Skills Knowledge And ExpertiseInclusive Hiring Practices

What You Bring On Day One3+ years in product management experience - platform experienced preferred.Experience supporting product direction with an emphasis on day to day execution.Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product.Experience working with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.Experience collaborating on product strategy, maintaining roadmaps, articulating requirements and managing product tradeoffs.Experience operating independently while proactively identifying roadblocks and engaging leaders for assistance.Strong intuition for product interaction and user experience.Strong critical thinking and analytical/quantitative skills.Strong sense of ownership, bias for action, urgency and drive.Strong verbal and written communication skills.
