The RoleAs an early employee, you will have the unique opportunity to work directly with minware’s founders and engineers to build the product from the ground up. We are looking for someone who has strong interpersonal skills, high empathy, and a solid understanding of software development processes and modern full-stack technology.
We are seeking an ambitious and nice engineering manager who has experience leading teams that build scalable, maintainable software. As a purveyor of developer productivity software, we are diligent about process efficiency and code quality. Though we are small, we try to avoid unnecessarily creating technical debt and are looking for someone who can lead us toward this goal.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage a team of several developers working on minware’s core application.
Provide career guidance and conduct performance reviews for engineers.
Conduct interviews and play an active role in growing the team.
Review code, participate in sprint meetings, and provide guidance to ensure that engineers are meeting product and technical requirements.
This is a player/coach role, so you will spend part of your time working on development tasks as part of the team.
Work closely with product managers and customers to define minware’s capabilities.
Design and architect new system components.
Manage a backlog of tech debt reduction and internal efficiency improvements.
Qualifications
Previous experience managing and recruiting other software engineers
Experience hands-on experience building and maintaining a complex back end application
Strong communication skills for interfacing with non-technical stakeholders and occasionally with customers
Familiarity with principles of high-quality code, including continuous integration, declarative and functional programming
Well-versed in agile or lean planning and project management processes
