Principal Engineer - Architect

Roles and Responsibilities:
Develops scope of work with operating units; develops preliminary budgets, schedules, feasibility studies and cost/benefit analyses for complex engineering projects.
Designs and/or approves design consultants plans, specifications, and cost estimates, schedules and other contract document preparation. Oversees code review and permit submittals, etc. Selects consultant by RFP. Coordinates as necessary with outside review agencies.
Prepares, evaluates and negotiates change orders. Stages construction, site inspections with Construction Management. Reviews and approves progress payment and monitors progress of schedules via Construction Management.
Prepares Board items for approval, budget reports, PIF's progress reports, briefings; forecasting of expenditures, review of T02 reports; resolves technical questions, approves submittals.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field, and five years of applied progressive experience.
Professional Engineer/Registered Architect license desirable.
Project Management experience is desirable.
