This position allows you to utilize your driving and customer service skills to help ensure transit bus passengers arrive at their appropriate locations in a safe manner while receiving exceptional customer service.
The Bus Driver - Transit (Transit Bus Operator) is a part-time position (no benefits) and a preferred hiring rate of $18.96.
Paid on-the-job training will be provided for candidates without a CDL and/or prior experience .
As a Transit Bus Operator, you'll:
Drive a transit bus;Pick up and delivers passengers;Collect and account for fares;Operate a bus on a designated route per a daily schedule;Operate a two-way radio and report unusual traffic conditions, passenger emergencies, or other problems;Operate mobility device lifts and secure mobility devices;Obey all traffic laws and observe mandatory safety regulations for transit operations to ensure passenger safety.A detailed list of essential duties along with the ideal candidates' knowledge, skills, and abilities is located in theMinimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school.Valid driver's license is required. Valid CDL is preferred.Availability to work a minimum of 18 hours per week is required.Special Requirements:
Incumbent subject to alcohol and controlled substances testing as required by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), a DMV driving record review and criminal background check. Must pass a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) physical examination as required by the U.S. DOT. Possession of or ability to acquire an appropriate CDL valid in the Commonwealth of VA is required by the end of the on-the-job classroom training for this position, or as deemed appropriate by the Department.Supplemental Information
