The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.Salary Range$123,000.00 - $203,000.00Target Openings1What Is the Opportunity?As an Architect, you will help lead the effort to create the technology target state for the Cybersecurity Architecture Unit of a global, Dow 30 company. As a direct report to a member of the Enterprise Architecture and Emerging Technology leadership team, you will interface directly with senior technology leaders to transform our current business and technology capabilities and pave the way for best-in-class solutions. - You will humbly learn to be an inspired Architect working with a coach/ mentor. - As a successful candidate, you have an established track record of building high-quality enterprise Cybersecurity solutions. - You are results-driven and bring strong software or infrastructure engineering or cybersecurity architecture skills and a deep understanding of modern technologies including Cloud-native, APIs, AI and ML. - You are a person of high integrity, who believes in challenging the status quo when needed, while always first seeking to understand. - You will work within a community of architecture leaders, helping establish and evolving a unified architecture vision.What Will You Do?Architecture responsibility within a major segment of Technology Architecture in support of the Cybersecurity Architecture business unitProvide security guidance, patterns and decisions in support of modern generative AI and public cloud solutions such as AWS.Leads Cybersecurity technology proof of concepts prototyping to ensure feasibility of architecture solutionsPartner with Software Engineering and the enterprise to lead and assist with the execution proof of technologiesProvides Cybersecurity architecture direction for engineers in support of a technical patternDisplays strong thought leadership in pursuit of modern architecture principals and technology modernizationDrives continuous technology transformation to minimize technical debtLooks for opportunities to capitalize on technology advances through analysis of key industry and technology trends to assess potential impact on the enterpriseParticipates in defining target state technology architecture and roadmapsEnsures alignment of technology initiatives with the target stateBuilds strong partnership with software and infrastructure engineering to ensure proper alignment of skills with technology directionContinuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of the architecturePerform other responsibilities as assigned.What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?Bachelor’s in technology related field or equivalent with 4+ years of technology Engineering experienceOrganizational experience in an agile operating modelEstablished work in proof of concepts and technologyStrong proven Software Engineering experienceSupports technology target state, roadmaps that aligned to Short- and Long-term business goalsHas hands on Cybersecurity or architecture experience in the last 3 yearsExposure to Generative AI security designDemonstrated proficiency in designing security solutions that align to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework or equvalent standards.Strong understanding of Cybersecurity domains of expertise.Experienced with large scale technology platformsCISSP, CISM, Security+, CISA or equivalent Cybersecurity certification preferredCurrent experience with AWS, APIs, accelerators, DevSecOpsCloud Architecture Certification (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or strong architecture experience preferred on CloudInsurance technology experience desiredStrong grasp of value creation and business capability modelsInnovation and Continuous ImprovementMust be passionate about technology transformationsExecuted technology modernization initiatives including migration to cloud native and API StrategyWhat is a Must Have?Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in work experience.Five years of experience in engineering software or analytic applications within a line of business areaWhat Is in It for You?Health Insurance: Employees and their eligible family members – including spouses, domestic partners, and children – are eligible for coverage from the first day of employment.Retirement: Travelers matches your 401(k) contributions dollar-for-dollar up to your first 5% of eligible pay, subject to an annual maximum.
