SUMMARY
We currently have a challenging opportunity available for a Neurologist at our Brooklyn Clinic. Under general direction and oversight of the Medical Director, is responsible for providing medical care services to patients in agency clinics and/or programs.
RESPONSIBILITIESObtains complete history of patient, records elements of past health history, family history, review of health habits and environmental data.Conducts physical examinations in order to provide information for use in diagnostic study and treatment.Administers routine vaccination/immunizations as required.Diagnoses and treats medical conditions.Ensures proper injury care and disease prevention.Performs therapeutic duties which include: prescribing medications, ordering of tests, including laboratory, radiologic and special exams.Refers consumers for specialty and emergency care as required.Communicates patient's treatment plans to RN Case Manager for follow ups.Collaborates with Nurse Practitioner.Provides advice/counseling regarding preventative health care and personal hygiene.Reviews medical record to ensure appropriate oversight and follow up with patient's treatment plans.Coordinates health care for patients with day programs, residential, family and Service Coordination as needed.Documents in patient's medical record summary of visit, established treatment plans and follow ups.Completes encounter forms for each visit, corresponding to medical services rendered to patients.Works in conjunction with other clinicians to ensure that patients receive optimally coordinated care.Provides supervision to students as needed.Keeps abreast of changes in field.Performs other related duties as requested.SKILLS REQUIRED
Ability to read, write, speak and understand EnglishGood interpersonal skills are required in order to interact effectively with employees, co-workers, the people we support, their families, other programs, outside contacts, etc.Due to sensitive nature of the position, must be able to maintain the strictest confidentiality.Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.Good organizational skillsAbility to input and retrieve information from a personal computer.Good oral and written communications skillsGood analytical ability to interpret client examination results and properly administer required tests.QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate from an approved medical schoolAt least three years of prior experienceMust have a valid NYS Physician's license
COMPENSATION:
$160 - $180/hour
SCHEDULE:
3 days/week, 9am-3:30pm
