Intuit is hiring a Principal Data Science Architect to join our Intuit AI team.Come join our collaborative and creative group of data scientists and machine learning engineers and design and build AI systems that directly affect hundreds of thousands of our customers. In this role, you will be designing, building, and deploying machine learning models in AI native applications using both analytical algorithms, deep learning, and Generative AI approaches. Drives architecture decisions, influences and contributes to ML platform architecture and strategyCreates a multi-year vision that connects product strategy with technology strategyPractices excellent leadership and communication skills to influence and lead teams and evangelize AI across the organization and the larger companyLeads team’s work in one or more of ML, NLP, Statistics, or Optimization, and performs hands-on work in these domains.Weighs ROI considerations of general and tailored capabilities for projects in the teamCreates new capabilities and technology shifts that solve critical business problemsPushes the boundaries of ML by developing foundational methods and novel applications from state-of-the-art ML technologies and industry trendsInfluences business leaders and architects around the company to shape mission-critical projectsLeads team and partners to the successful delivery and integration of ML solutionsConducts design reviews, and holds teams to technical and operational rigor.Acts as an advisor in overseeing and mentoring the work of colleagues toward the building of a vibrant practice communityPhD/MS in Engineering Mathematics, Statistics, Theoretical/Computational Physics, or related field or equivalent work experienceSolid knowledge of statistical techniques3+ years as either a lead in a data science role or a management position in data scienceStrong communication skills and proven experience as an influencer at the executive levelHands-on programming experience in one or more of: ML, NLP, Statistics, or Optimization6+ years’ experience manipulating large datasets and using databases (e.g. R, SQL, S-Plus, etc.)6+ years’ experience with a general-purpose programming language (e.g. Python, Scala, etc.)Strongly Preferred:PhD in Engineering Mathematics, Statistics, Theoretical/Computational Physics, or related fieldExpert knowledge and hands-on experience in one or more of: ML, NLP, Statistics, or OptimizationExpert knowledge and hands-on experience with ML pipelines, processes, and design patternsComputer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, performance complexity, and implications of computer architecture on software performance (e.g., I/O and memory tuning).Software engineering fundamentals: version control systems (i.e. Git, Github) and workflows, and ability to write production-ready codeProven track record of influencing business leaders to shape mission-critical projectsProven track record of leading teams to successful delivery of ML solutionsStrong interpersonal and communication skills in order to effectively contribute to technical teams and make presentations to a variety of technical and business personnel
