Successful candidates will be responsible for providing technical, management, and staff support for a variety of infrastructure-related projects, primarily involving the planning and design of water/wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and storage facilities. Candidates should be skilled in managing multiple priorities, organizing time and projects, tracking budgets and meeting deadlines.
Your Role
Participate in identifying and collaborating on various types of water/wastewater planning, design, and construction opportunitiesEngage with client staff at all levels for major municipal clientsAssist in the strategy to market existing and potential clients and assist in the preparation of proposalsPrepare and manage project budgets utilizing Tetra Tech’s Project Management SystemEffectively lead multidisciplinary project teamsLead the planning, evaluation and selection of preferred alternativesPerform conceptual and detailed design calculations and analysesPrepare detailed engineering reports and supporting documentsPrepare construction drawings, specifications and cost estimatesProvide construction support services including meetings, site visitsEnsure standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projectsEvaluate alternatives, resolve technical issues and interface with other engineering disciplinesPerform engineering interpretation of specifications and drawings, recommending and documenting design modifications, and coordinating with the design teamWork directly with Project Managers to develop project deliverables as well as act as Design Manager on a variety of municipal projectsCollaborate on developing strong project teams across the water/wastewater marketResolve questions, plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost effective and compliant manner
Qualifications
BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering (MS is preferred)15+years of experience with increasing responsibility in the municipal and industrial engineering marketsRegistered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Massachusetts required (or ability to obtain reciprocity within 3 months)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience delivering technical and business presentationsDemonstrated ability to plan, develop, coordinate and direct development of large projects and pursuits with complex featuresProven track record of successfully bringing in and executing profitable assignments for clients and building key target client accountsAbility to properly scope out new businessProven track record of successfully managing projects and delivering on time and within budget, while meeting or exceeding client expectationsAn understanding of future industry trends, strategic planning processes, and demonstrated success translating those to effective tacticsAbility to motivate others and lead teams to implement plans for projects and client pursuitsAbility to oversee preparation of key proposals and deliverablesProven ability to collaborate with other professionals to deliver the best solutions for clients
