Job Title: Critical Care Pulmonologist Hospitalist
Job Location: Houma, LA area
Salary: $450k-500k
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Critical Care Pulmonologist to join our esteemed hospital system as a Hospitalist. The successful candidate will primarily work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Clinic, providing expert care to critically ill patients while also engaging in outpatient clinical responsibilities. Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients in the ICU, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of pulmonary and critical care conditions.Conduct thorough assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment plans for patients admitted to the ICU.Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including intensivists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.Participate actively in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and educational activities to enhance patient care and promote clinical excellence.Manage outpatient pulmonary clinics, offering consultations, follow-up appointments, and treatment plans for pulmonary diseases and related conditions.Demonstrate proficiency in performing procedures commonly required in critical care and pulmonary medicine, such as intubation, bronchoscopy, and thoracentesis.Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, research projects, and scholarly activities aimed at advancing the field of critical care and pulmonary medicine.Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters, procedures, and treatment plans in accordance with institutional policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.Board certification or eligibility in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.Completion of an accredited residency program in Internal Medicine, followed by fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.Active medical license in Louisiana or willing to obtain.Demonstrated expertise in managing critically ill patients in the ICU setting, with a focus on mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic support, and complex medical management.Strong clinical acumen and proficiency in interpreting diagnostic tests, imaging studies, and laboratory results.Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and communicate compassionately with patients and their families.Commitment to ongoing professional development, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.Prior experience working as a hospitalist or in an academic medical center preferred but not required.Compensation and Benefits:
