OverviewAnsible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting multiple Long Term Care Registered Nurses to support the Atlanta VA Health Care Center located at 1670 Clairmont Rd, Decatur, GA 30033. Nurses may also be asked to provide services at Community Based Outpatient Centers (CBOC). Multiple shift schedules are available. To address these challenges, we employ intelligent and committed staff who take care of our customers’ success as if it is their own.ResponsibilitiesProvides comprehensive nursing care within the professional scope of practice for a variety of diagnoses for geriatric patientsConducts initial assessment on patients, develops nursing care plans based on identified patient needs, coordinates with ancillary services to assure provision of care, documents all plans, assessments, and care providedProvides patient and family education through hospitalization, and initiates discharge planningAdministers oxygen, IV fluids, blood transfusions, prescribed medications, and titrate medications in accordance with VA policyObserves and assesses patients’ clinical condition, recognizes and promptly reports significant changes indicative of complicationsInitiates resuscitative measures in emergency situationsOperates and monitors specialized equipment including, but not limited to: oxygen, hypothermia units, and various types of suction apparatus, infusion equipment, and patient-controlled analgesia pumps (PCA), epidural pumps, sequential compression devices and vital sign monitorsMakes nursing care assignments for various skill levels of professional and assistive personnel as assignedPrepares patients for surgical and diagnostic procedures and assists with procedures as necessaryProvides post-procedure and post-operative recovery careEnsures that all JHACO standards for professional nursing care are met during performance of careCompletes appropriate medical record forms in compliance with VA guidelines and policies on each patientVerifies the content and correctness of all recorded entries in patient record; all documentation/records/reports must meet or exceed established VA standards to include, but not limited to: timeliness, legibility, accuracy, content, and signature; outpatient records shall be completed the same day the patient is seenDemonstrates sensitivity to cultural diversity, race, gender, and other individual differences in the workforce, in the Veteran population, and in the communityOther duties as assignedQualificationsHolds a diploma, Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program, college, or university and hold a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any State; a Bachelor’s degree is preferredHas been practicing actively as an RN in an acute or long-term setting for at least the last threeyearsIs capable of providing complex and comprehensive nursing care for adult medical and surgical patientsHas and maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certificationsHas no health or physical disability restrictions that interfere with performance of assigned dutiesNo Sponsorship availableAll candidates must be able to:Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shiftLift up to 50 lbs from floor to waistLift up to 20 lbsCarry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distancePush/pull with 30 lbs of forceAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
