Atlantic Health System is Seeking a Per Diem Nurse Practioner for Gastroenterology in Summit, New Jersey
Atlantic Health System, one of New Jersey's largest non-profit healthcare systems, is seeking a Nurse Practioner (NP) to join Atlantic Medical Group GI at Summit. As an NP supporting Gastroenterology at Overlook Medical Center, you will provide patient care, diagnose conditions, and conduct diagnostic tests and procedures in an inpatient setting. The NP will collaborate closely with the gastroenterology team, coordinate care with other providers, and maintain high-quality patient care. This is a per diem position offering weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday), and the occasional weekday shift contingent on department needs. There is an opportunity for more shifts if requested.
ResponsibilitiesAdvocate for patients, family members, and nursing personnelSupport policy and services that advocate for patient rights and optimal environments of healthcareDevelop plans of care and implementation of treatmentPerform evidence-based interventions consistent with patient/family needsEvaluate effectiveness of interventions for resolution or preventing patient care problemsDocument appropriately in the medical record; discharge summaries for distribution to collaborating and referring physiciansManage and assist to meet health education needs of patient and familiesInitiate consultation and referrals to appropriate specialty providers when indicatedCollaborate with other disciplines in consultation, teaching, management, and research activities to improve outcomes in nursing practice and enhance the healthcare environmentPrioritize daily tasks and assignmentsIdentify and recommend opportunities for improvement to ensure patient safety and quality outcomesEngage in critical analysis of own practice experience and the medical literature for the purposes of self and practice improvementPursue and participate in formal and independent learning activities to enhance knowledge, clinical competency, and professional developmentBenefits

Qualifications
Graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner programMust be licensed or eligible for licensure in New JerseyACLS and BLS certification requiredNew graduates are encouraged to apply1-2 years' experience in GI or other medical subspeciality is preferredStrong work ethic and a team player who can work independentlyID: 34365
