They work under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer to ensure that the program is effectively and efficiently meeting the needs of the incarcerated population. The Psychiatrist provides direct patient care, conducts psychiatric evaluations, and prescribes medication as needed.Key Responsibilities :Provide medication prescriptions and monitoring, individual counseling, and supervise LMFTRespond to psychiatric emergencies and conduct monthly audits of patient chartsReview and countersign records of mid-level providers and RNsMonitor hospitalized patients and attend Quality Assurance and administrative meetingsRefer eligible inmates for 5150 and participate in Quality Management and Peer Review meetings.

Qualifications & Requirements :EducationGraduate of accredited medical schoolExperiencePrefer correctional/detention facility experienceLicenses/CertificationsCurrent, unrestricted state license as a physicianCurrent DEA licenseCurrent life saving certification
